How it works
How to fund a virtual card with crypto
You fund a PayNovaX card in three moves: deposit a supported token into your account wallet, move that balance onto your virtual card, then spend it online at merchants worldwide. Deposits go to an address generated for your account, and the card balance stays yours to top up or unload whenever you want.
The rest of this page walks through each step, the one mistake that costs people money, and what you can do with a card once it is funded.
The four steps in detail
- 01
Create your account
Register with an email address and confirm it with the one-time code we send you. There is no application queue to sit in. Some sign-ins and sensitive actions ask for a further one-time code, by email or from an authenticator app, so the account stays protected once it holds a balance.
- 02
Deposit crypto to your wallet
Your account has a wallet for each supported asset, and each one shows its own deposit address. Copy the address for the asset you are sending, send from your exchange or self-custody wallet, and the balance appears once the network confirms it. Supported tokens are typically stablecoins such as USDT and USDC across major networks.
- 03
Top up your card
Wallet balance and card balance are separate. Moving funds onto a card is a deliberate step, which means an incoming deposit never lands on a live card by surprise. You can top up as often as you like, and you can unload a balance back off the card just as easily.
- 04
Spend online, anywhere
Use the card details online at merchants worldwide. Every purchase shows up against the card in your account, so you can reconcile spend as it happens rather than waiting for a statement.
Before you send
Choosing the right network
This is the part people get wrong, and it is the only step in the whole process that is difficult to undo. It is worth two minutes.
Match the network before you send. Crypto sent across a network an address does not support is generally not recoverable, by us or by anyone else. Always check the network shown next to the deposit address against the network you are withdrawing from.
The same token exists on several networks
USDT is not one thing. The same ticker is issued on Ethereum, Tron, and other chains, and each version travels on its own rails. A balance on one network cannot arrive at an address that only listens on another.
The address you copy is tied to one network
In your account, every deposit address is shown alongside the asset and network it belongs to. That pairing is the part to check. Copying the right address for the wrong chain is the mistake worth slowing down for.
Network fees are not our fees
What the network charges to move your tokens is set by the network, and it varies with congestion. Sending the same amount over a cheaper chain is usually the difference between a negligible cost and a noticeable one.
Confirmation time depends on the chain
A deposit is credited once the network confirms it. That is fast on some chains and slower on others, and slower again when the network is busy, so leave headroom if you are funding against a deadline.
See the full list of supported tokens and networks for which pairings we accept, and the USDT page if that is the token you are sending.
Once it is funded
What you can do with the card
Fund ad accounts and subscriptions
The card works online at merchants worldwide, and PayNovaX does not add a surcharge to advertising or social platform spend the way some crypto card providers do. If you are reloading a card to fund ad accounts rather than making the occasional purchase, that difference compounds.
Freeze a card without losing the balance
Freezing blocks spending instantly and leaves the balance untouched. Unfreezing puts the card straight back into use, so pausing a card you are unsure about costs you nothing.
Move funds back off the card
Card balances travel both ways. Unload back to your account whenever you want, so committing money to a card is never a one-way decision.
See spend as it happens
Transactions appear against the card in your account as they clear, so you can reconcile against your own records without waiting on a monthly statement.
Funding ad accounts is the case this suits for high-volume reloads — cards for ad spend. Paying ChatGPT Plus, streaming, or other card-billed software is cards for subscriptions.
